  • History

    • Benign ethnic neutropenia: 25-50% of African ancestry have ANC 1-1.5 E9/L
    • Drug induced agranulocytosis
    • Infection: HIV, HCV, tick, Brucella, neutropenic fever
    • Chemorad
    • hypersplenism
    • chronic idiopathic neutropenia is dx of exclusion
  • Immunologic (GAT and GIFT dx tests)

    • neonatal alloimmune neutropenia
    • autoimmune
    • malignancy induced: HL, T-LGL, Wilms
    • Transplant: SCT, kidney
  • Marrow bx

    • aplastic anemia
    • PNH
    • MDS
    • infiltrate: LGL, leukemia, malignancy, granuloma
    • fibrosis
    • congenital neutropenia
