Gross- rusty color
- nodular (cirrhosis)
Histology- iron deposition
- hereditary hemochromatosis: hepatocyte iron, predominantly periportal
- secondary iron overload: Kupffer cell iron (lines sinusoids)
- oral iron: portal iron
- cirrhosis
Molecular- hereditary hemochromatosis: HFE mutation
