  • Clinical

    • protein losing enteropathy -> low protein

  • Gross

    • rugal hypertrophy: 1-3 cm giant polypoid rugal folds

  • Histology

    • marked foveolar hyperplasia: long, tortuous
    • cystic mucous glands replacing oxyntic glands
    • +/- mild lymphocytic gastritis
    • lack of intestinal metaplasia, peptic ulcer, regenerative atypia

  • Ddx

    • ZES: gastrin, peptic ulcers
    • rule out H pylori and CMV as treatment is different
    • Cronkhite Canada syndrome
