- site: mostly jaw and face
- Sporadic
- children and young adult
- male predominance (2-3:1)
- 30% EBV
- site: mostly abdominal
- Immunocompromised
- HIV
- 25-40% EBV
- site: nodal, marrow involvement
Morphology- starry sky (macrophages ingesting apoptotic cells)
- mitosis
- can have granulomatous inflammation
- can have plasmacytoid differentiation, esp in immunocompromised
Stains- positive: B markers, CD10, BCL6, CD38, CD77, CD43, Ki67 (>95%)
- negative: BCL2, TdT
Molecular- MYC translocation, 8q24
- usually with IGH, t(8;14)
- other myc txl: t(8;22), t(2;8)
