  • Clinical

    • rare, < 2% lymphoid neoplasm
    • age 50+
    • site: spleen, splenic nodes, blood, marrow, liver

  • Morphology

    • effacement of germinal centers by small lymphocytes
    • marginal zone of pale larger cells
    • smear: lymphocytes with villi
    • marrow: intrasinusoidal infiltrate

  • Stains

    • negative: CD5, CD10, CD23, cyclin D1, annexin A1 (excludes HCL), BCL6
