  • Histology

    • chronic features: basal cell hyperplasia, papilla elongation, eosinophils
      • basal cell hyperplasia (> 15% of mucosa)
      • papilla elongation (> 60% of mucosa)
      • eosinophils (distal esophagus, < 8 eos per 40x field)
    • acute features: edema, necrosis, inflammation
    • severe features: ulcer, fibrosis
