  • Clinical

    • 4-6 weeks after initiation of therapy

  • Histology

    • reactive atypia (degenerative, vacuolated cytoplasm)
    • can have giant multinucleated cells
    • stroma: edema, extravasated RBCs, inflammation, hemosiderin, atypical fibroblasts
    • late effects: collagenization, myointimal proliferation or hyalinization of arterioles, squamous metaplasia

  • Ddx

    • UCIS
      • higher NC ratio
      • real atypia (not just degenerative)
      • mitosis
