  • Histology

    • papillary with fibrovascular core, tubules
    • type 1: single layer small cells with scant cytoplasm
    • type 2: pseudostratified, higher grade, eosinophilic cytoplasm
    • sarcomatoid dedifferentiation in 5%
  • Stains

    • positive: CD15 (100%), napsin (76%)
    • negative: galectin (13%), CD117 (14%), Ecad (15%)
    • CK7 (87% of type 1, 20% of type 2)
  • Molecular

    • trisomy or tetrasomy 7
    • trisomy 17
    • y loss
