Clinical- age: young adults
- location
- subcutaneous, rarely intramuscular
- most commonly upper extremity, trunk, head and neck
- onset: 1-2 months of rapid growth
- size: < 2-5 cm
Rare typesHistology- border: focally infiltrative, unencapsulated
- spindle cells
- extravasated RBCs, inflammatory cells
- fibromyxoid stroma, may have central cystic change
- mitosis but no atypia
- can have giant cells
Stains- actin+ (SMA, MSA)
- desmin negative
- CD68 stains giant cells
- CK-, S100-
