    • diffuse coarsely granular subcapsular surface
    • reduced weight

  • Histology

    • location: shallow subcapsular scars (nephrosclerosis)
    • glomerulosclerosis
    • tubular atrophy
    • thickened arterioles, arteries, duplicated elastica

  • Ddx

    • subcapsular scar from small remote infact (not diffuse)
    • chronic glomerulonephritis
      • entire cortex rather than subcapsular
