- tonsillar cysts: epiglottis
- oncocytic: ventricular folds and ventricle of morgagni

- congenital cyst: has mesodermal and endodermal layers
- traumatic cyst: hx of surgical intervention, arytenoid
- pyocele if cyst becomes infected
Histology- epithelium: squamous or respiratory
- wall: fibrous connective tissue
- vascular elements in vascular cyst
- inflammation in tonsillar cyst
Ddx- branchial cleft cyst
- thyroglossal duct cyst
