- peripheral
Histology- architecture
- nesting
- trabecular
- rosettes
- perilobular palisading
- nuclei larger than 3x lymphocyte
- prominent nucleoli
- mitosis
- necrosis
- can have components of other carcinoma
Stains- chromogranin, synaptophysin, CD56+
- TTF1+/- (50%)
Ddx- atypical carcinoid (less mitosis, necrosis)
- poorly differentiated SCC (has at least focal squamous diff)
- solid adenocarcinoma (has mucin)
