    • ulcers
    • can have pseudomembranes
    • can have stricture
  • Histology

    • superfical mucosal necrosis
    • crypt atrophy, regenerative atypia
    • hyalinized lamina propria
    • lack of prominent inflammation
  • Stains

    • trichrome stains lamina propria hyaline
  • Ddx

    • C difficile
      • no lamina propria hyaline or trichrome staining
      • no crypt atrophy
