  • Histology

    • goblet cells (goblet shaped, pale-blue tinge or has mucin-like debris)
    • rule out pseudogoblet cells (color and texture same as foveolar cells)
    • rule out artifact (bubble/vacuole that's completely white)
    • LG dysplasia = architecture preserved, nuclei more crowded and elongated, mild pleomorphism
    • HG dysplasia = polarity loss, nuclei large hyperchromatic, atypia extends to surface
    • stromal fibrosis following ablation
