    • usually 1-3 cm
    • purple if infarcted or thrombosed

  • Histology

    • thick walled, dilated blood vessels
    • can be thrombosed with intravascular granulation tissue
    • stroma: loose fibroconnective tissue
    • epithelium: squamous
