  • Histology

    • immature: primitive spindle cells, haphazard myotubules, myxoid stroma
    • intermediate: striated muscle cells, rhabdomyoblasts (spindled or ganglion-like)

  • Stains

    • positive: MSA, myoglobin, desmin
    • can have focal SMA, S100, GFAP, vimentin
    • negative: CK, CD68, EMA

  • Molecular

    • PTCH gene mutation
