  • Clinical

    • age: 10-39
    • site: extremities. Also, trunk, head/neck.
  • Histology

    • architecture: nodules frequently with central necrosis. Resembles necrobiotic granulomas.
    • cytology: epithelioid and spindle cells. Slight nuclear atypia, vesicular nuclei, small nucleoli
    • frequent perineural, perivascular invasion
    • low mitosis: < 5 per 10 hpf
    • fibroma-like variant: predominantly spindle cells
  • Stains

    • positive: vimentin, CK (9, 19), EMA
    • frequently: CD34
