  • Clinical

    • large, oval, multiple
    • irregular pigmentation
    • central papule with surrounding macule, fading border

  • Histology

    • rete clubbing
    • nests: at junction, tips and sides of rete, horizontal orientation
    • fading border: junctional component extends beyond dermal component
    • has maturation and dispersion at base
    • lack deep mitosis or pigmentation

  • Grading

    • low: atypia at shoulder region only
    • moderate: atypia at shoulder and central
    • high: high grade atypia, irregular, resembles melanoma in situ
