  • Clinical

    • prototype: pyothorax -> pyothorax-associated lymphoma
    • other sites: bone (chronic osteomyelitis), joint, soft tissue near joint
    • association: EBV
    • male predominance (12:1)
  • Morphology

    • large blasts with single or multiple nucleoli
    • can have necrosis and angiocentric growth
  • Stains

    • positive: B markers (CD20, CD79a), EBV
    • plasmacytic differentiation: can lose B markers and gain CD138, MUM1
    • can have abberant T markers, CD30
