    • lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma
  • Clinical

    • median age 60
    • site: mostly marrow, sometimes node and spleen
    • association: Waldenstroms (LPL, marrow involvement, IgM), HCV
  • Morphology

    • predominantly small lymphs mixed with plasmacytoid lymphs and plasma cells
    • marrow: nodular, diffuse and/or interstitial infiltrate
    • node: dilated sinuses, proliferation in intersinus regions
    • monomorphic dark proliferation: lacks pale proliferation centers or marginal zone cells
    • Dutcher bodies, cytoplasmic Ig
    • increased mast cells
    • can have paratrabecular aggregates
  • Stains

    • negative: CD5, CD10, CD23, CD103
    • CD138 stains plasma cells
    • strong surface and cytoplasmic Ig, usually IgM
