  • Clinical

    • Asian female
    • lymphadenopathy
      • 90% cervical
      • 90% unilateral
      • less common (axillary, inguinal, generalized)
      • painless, no systemic sx
    • Spontaneous resolution in a few weeks/months
  • Histology

    • necrohistiocytic
      • patchy
      • architecture partially maintained
      • pale staining histiocytes
      • periphery plasmacytoid monocytes, immunoblasts, thrombosed vessels
    • lack PMNs, eos
    • subtypes
      • lymphohistiocytic
      • phagocytic
      • necrotic
      • foamy cell
  • Stains

    • BG lymphs are predominantly T cells (CD8 > 4)
    • Plasmacytoid monocytes (CD123)
    • R/o infection
