    • age > 50, median age 71
    • 70% extranodal
    • 30% nodal only

  • Morphology

    • cytology
      • polymorphous subtype: range of blasts, medium, and small B cells
      • large cell subtype: predominantly large cells
    • geographic necrosis

  • Stains

    • positive: CD20, CD79a, MUM1, CD30+/-
    • positive in large cells: LMP1 (94%), EBNA2 (28%)
    • negative: CD10, BCL6, CD15
