AML with MDS

  • Criteria

    • 20% blast (PB or BM)
    • MDS hx, cytogenetics, or multilineage dysplasia
      • cytogenetics: del7q, del5q, and others
      • multilineage dysplasia: at least 50% of cells, 2 lineages
    • rule out AML with recurrent genetic abnormalities, or therapy related disease

  • Clinical

    • 30% of AML
    • pancytopenia

  • Immunophenotype

    • positive: myeloid (CD13, CD33), aberrant (CD56, CD7)
    • variable: CD34, HLADR, TdT, CD38
